There’s a lot of announcements over in Orlando at Enterprise Connect and i wanted to make sure i watched the Microsoft keynote and here’s a summary of the session.

Personal Space – still the IP desk is the most common device, full native teams client to new generation of ip phones from AudioCodes and Yealink

Cortana direct on the desk phone – how cool is that.

Pick up the handset and say who you want to call and its done !

Mobile first workers

Mobile phone workstations – this is cool, Plantronics was demo’d here.

You can put your mobile phone on the dock, charges it and automatically transfers teams meeting to speakerphone or headset – thinking about mobile workers and making is simple.

Devices also have dial pad and teams button which launches teams experience

Shared devices – Room Systems

Many have legacy VTCs so partners Bluejeans, Pexip and Polycom

Delivered cloud video interop later this year to allow legacy vtc into teams meetings

A year ago SRS was launched and allowed super easy access to meetings

This week every SRS will get a native Teams experience BUT were not stopping there so we are delivering a proxy detection. Take your laptop to a meeting room and it auto detects your in a meeting room where there is a meeting room device you could use!

The laptop knows its close to a meeting and the laptop joins in content only mode

Logitech are announcing updates to the meet up will detect other people in the room and scale the video automatically

Meetup will shortly feed the meeting count so IT knows how meeting rooms are utilised

Cortana in the meeting room as well – mute room, invite partcipants etc

Teams is coming to every Room System and Room system family is expanding, Logitech, Polycom and then Creston this week two new friends. Lenovo and HP

Teams – Started early adopter pilot in 2 month, great feedback and feeding back to Microsoft

Devices – 2000 rooms with voice and video in them, introducing SRS and surface hub, employees are comfortable using it and delivering interop via partners

Skype Meeting Broadcast – GE in the news the leadership team looked to communicate in the business 6-700 meetings with 10 of thousands of users and employees liking the leadership communication

Teams have launched the vision for intelligent communications
