Skype for Business Basic Client

Following a few tweets on twitter with @luca_vitali about the release of the SfB basic client @randychapman delivered us some great news its available 🙂

The download is associated to an issue with Office 365 Business users upgrading to Office 2016 as it removes the Skype for Business so this has to be installed manually hence the separate download.

It notes on the KB “This issue occurs because the download links for the Skype for Business client in the Office 365 admin center refer to the earlier version of Office.”

Few screenshots from the install, I’ve also found this can run side by side with Lync 2013 basic and Lync 2010 client. My test pc is now stocked up with old and new 🙂

Download 32 or 64 bit and start the install.

I did need to free up disk space as it want over 1Gb of free space but i would hope most people have more than this. my test pc didn’t lol.
