Fixes Cause and Fix
4490655 Event ID 32011 and Event ID 1000 occur when ASMCU service crashes in Skype for Business Server 2015

Symptoms

In Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015, the Application Sharing Multipoint Control Unit (ASMCU) service of Front End Server may crash intermittently. Users cannot create screen sharing sessions and all connected users lose their app sharing sessions. To restore the service, the ASMCU service needs to be restarted.

In addition, the following events could be logged:

4487830 The ability for Skype for Business Server 2015 to support TLS 1.2 connections from Surface Hub and Microsoft Teams Rooms systems (SRSv2) is available This update introduces server-side support in Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 for TLS 1.2 connections from Skype Room Systems v2 (Microsoft Teams Rooms or SRSv2) and Surface Hub devices.

Important

Both SRSv2 and Surface Hub devices also require client updates to support TLS 1.2 connections. For more information, see the following notes.

Notes
  • At the time of this release, Surface Hub client support for TLS 1.2 has not yet shipped. For updates and more information, see Surface Hub update history. If you disable TLS 1.0 or 1.1 in your on-premises environment before you update Surface Hubs, the devices will no longer be able to sign in.
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms (previously known as Skype Room System v2) clients require version 4.0.64.0 or a later version. For more information, see Microsoft Teams Rooms Release notes.
  • SRSv2 devices are now fully supported if TLS 1.0 or 1.1 is disabled in your Skype for Business Server 2015 on-premises environments.
4487824 Updated job title isn’t displayed in the Skype for Business for Mac or mobile client in Skype for Business Server 2015 In a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, you update the job title for a user in Active Directory. When the user uses the Skype for Business for Mac or mobile client to join a meeting, the old job title is still shown for the user in the roster of the meeting. However, the contact card shows the correct job title.

This issue occurs because the changes aren’t pushed to the Skype for Business server database.

4487825 Support for sending custom policies to UCWA clients in Skype for Business Server 2015 After you apply this update, Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 will provide custom policies to the UCWA client (such as the Skype for Business for Mac or mobile client). The custom policies are configured through the New-CsClientPolicyEntry cmdlet. This enables UCWA clients to support custom policies like Skype for Business App for Windows.
4487826 UCWA client drops an incoming call on SBAs from a federated user in Skype for Business Server 2015 Consider the following scenario:

  • You are homed on a Survivable Branch Appliance or Server (SBAs) in Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015.
  • The advanced privacy mode is enabled in SBAs.
  • You use a UCWA client such as the Skype for Business for Mac or mobile client.
  • A federated Skype for Business user starts a call to you.
In this scenario, you can accept the incoming call. However, the call is a one-way audio from the UCWA client to the federated user, and no audio comes back. After about 15 seconds, the call drops. In addition, the outgoing call isn’t affected.
4487827 Simultaneous ring not working after you install Skype for Business Server 2015 November 2016 Cumulative Update After you install the Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 CU4 (November 2016 Cumulative Update), the simultaneously ring feature only works intermittently in the Skype for Business client.
4487828 Can’t automatically sign in to Skype for Business for Mac after EnableMobility is set to false in Skype for Business Server 2015 You set the EnableMobility parameter to false in order not to let users use Skype for Business on their mobile phones in Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015. In this scenario, the users can’t sign in to the Skype for Business for Mac client automatically after switching a network or hibernating the computer. In addition, the Skype for Business for Mac client displays “Restoring the server connection…” but does not connect, and displays the sign-in screen.
4487819 Intranet URI is still filtered even if IgnoreLocal is set to True in Set-CsImFilterConfiguration in Skype for Business Server 2015 In Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015, you define the IgnoreLocal parameter to True in the Set-CsImFilterConfiguration cmdlet to bypass the instant message (IM) filtering on local intranet Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) in IMs. However, the IM that contains any URL such as http://contoso.com/site (the contoso.com is the local domain) is still filtered.
4487820 Audio conference invitations are sent to delegates of your delegates if you set up simultaneous ring to delegates in Skype for Business Server 2015 Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment:

  • You set up simultaneous ring to your delegate user A.
  • User A also sets up simultaneous ring to a delegate user B.
  • You receive an audio conference invitation.

In this scenario, both user A and user B receive the audio conference invitation.

If you have many delegates and your delegates also have delegates, the audio conference invitation will be sent to all the delegates due to simultaneous ring. This can cause the Skype for Business Server Front-End service (RTCSrv.exe) to exhaust a lot of memory.

4487821 “Call was not completed or has ended” error when you make a call with a federated user in Skype for Business Server 2015

Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment:

  • You are a federated Skype for Business user to User A.
  • The Busy Options with the Busy On Busy feature is enabled in User A’s organization.
  • User A is already engaged in another communication stream.
  • You make a call to User A.

In this scenario, the call fails and you receive the following error message:

Call was not completed or has ended.

4487822 File transfer filter doesn’t block file name extension if it’s allowed by IM filter in Skype for Business Server 2015 Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment:

  • You apply an instant messaging (IM) filter to prevent users from sending instant messages that contain live (clickable) hyperlinks (URI prefixes with https: aren’t in the block list) by using the Set-CsImFilterConfiguration cmdlet.
  • You apply a file transfer filter to block a user’s ability to transfer certain types (for example, files that have exe file name extension) of files by using the Set-CsFileTransferFilterConfiguration cmdlet.
  • You send a non-blocked prefix with a blocked file name extension (for example, https://contoso.com/site.exe) IM to another user in the Skype for Business desktop client.
In this scenario, the message isn’t filtered.
4487817 Conversation History time stamp in Outlook differs from the time stamp of UCWA clients in Skype for Business Server 2015 In a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, the time stamp of a missed conversation that’s recorded in the Conversation History folder in Outlook differs from the time stamp in the UCWA application, such as Skype for Business for Mac and Skype for Business for mobile client.
4487818 Skype for Business UCWA client can’t be distinguished on CDR report if connection is internal or external In a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, you use the Skype for Business on Mac or mobile client that’s in an external network to start a call with a Skype for Business client user. You may find that the value of Is From user internal or Is To user internal (depending on whether the UCWA user is the caller or callee) always shows Yes on the Call detail recording (CDR) report. It’s expected that the clients should be flagged correctly as external or internal on this report.
4488056 UCMA calls still fail after one Front End server in the pool goes down for a while in Skype for Business Server 2015 Consider the following scenario in a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment:

  • You have a Skype for Business Front End pool that has several Front End servers.
  • You have a Unified Communications Managed API (UCMA) application that’s used for conferencing call, chat, subscribes, and so on. In addition, it’s running against the Front End pool.
  • One Skype for Business Front End server in the pool goes down.
  • You make a call by using the UCMA application.
In this scenario, the call fails.
4487816 “With the plug-in, you can present your screen in the meeting” warning occurs when you install Skype for Business Web App plug-in in Internet Explorer
In a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, you join a meeting by using Skype for Business Web App through Internet Explorer browser. When you select the Install Skype for Business Web App plug-in option, the following warning message pops up:
“With the plug-in, you can present your screen in the meeting. You can’t participate in video of the meeting or join meeting audio from your computer.”
4489272 Can’t upgrade back-end database that uses a SQL Server always on availability group to Cumulative Update 8 (CU8) or apply CU8 to Front End or Edge servers in Skype for Business Server 2015
In a Microsoft Skype for Business Server 2015 environment, when you try to upgrade the back-end database that uses a SQL Server always on availability group to the Skype for Business Server 2015 CU8 (January 2019 Cumulative Update) or apply CU8 to Front End or Edge servers, you may receive the following error message:
Install-CsDatabase : Command execution failed: The network path was not found.
